If the name Chase Seiffert is totally unfamiliar — it should be.
Seiffert has been struggling to make it to the PGA Tour, he finally got there, gaining his card after the 2019 Korn Ferry season.
But things have been pretty rocky for the 28-year-old who played on the same Florida State golf team as Brooks Koepka.
On Sunday at the Workday, Seiffert put together an amazing run at Muirfield Village to the finish and notched a solo fourth — his best finish on Tour and it may have helped him get a leg-up on the FedEx Cup playoffs.
Seiffert’s 67 was highlighted by a hole-out from 100-yards on his fourth shot at the par five fifth hole. His second shot found a water hazard and he looked destined for bogey but that shot ended up preserving his top five finish.
“It means a lot,” Seiffert said of his best finish on the PGA Tour. “I have to play well in the starts I get. I played well and I’m so happy.”
Seiffert, at age 28, had never finished in the top 20 in a PGA Tour event. He missed the 36-hole cut last week at the Rocket Mortgage. In 2018 he had no status on any tours, so it was the finish he needed to get a leg-up on making the FedEx Cup playoffs.
