There’s a lot of stress out there these days.
There’s uncertainty and the world hates uncertainty.
Golf remains the great escape and if you want to clear your mind, free your soul, go out late in the day and play alone.
Solo golf can be a totally uplifting experience. No other players, no distractions, leave that darn cell phone in the trunk of your car.
It’s just you, your clubs and the course.
if you’re able to walk, that’s even better, even if it’s just nine holes.
This is a great way to forget all the noise out there for a few hours, the ultimate in “social distancing.”
Leave the range-finder in the bag. Get your yardage the way we used to — pace it off.
Take in the sights and smells of the outdoors. Appreciate nature as it unfolds around you.
It’s not about good or bad shots, it’s about the escape. Golf remains a classic sanctuary in troubling times.
Clear your mind, relax your swing, there’s no virus out there when no one else is around.
Enjoy it, relish it.
There is joy in playing alone.

Absolutely Tom.
It’s been too long for me.
I always disagree when Fehrity says there’s something wrong if you play alone. I get the sentiment of playing with others but I still remember alone rounds from over a decade ago very fondly.
Theres something about being alone that connects one with the surrounding and most importantly with oneself.
It’s a beautiful thing.
