Big day for Michelle Wie and Jonnie West this past weekend.
Wie, the LPGA Tour star and West, director of operations for the Golden State Warriors and son of NBA legend Jerry West, were married Saturday afternoon in a big-time ceremony in Beverly Hills.
The guest list was packed with celebrities and LPGA players.
Golden State star and amateur golfer Steph Curry was there. Wie’s long-time coach, David Leadbetter was there.
“She was so happy, and she looked so radiant,” said Leadbetter. “It’s a great new chapter in her life.”
There were an estimated 150 guests on hand to watch the ceremony. Leadbetter’s daughter, Hally, was one of the bridesmaids. And, yes, of course, Jerry West was there as father of the groom.
LPGA players Danielle Kang, Jessica Korda, Marina Alex, Alison Lee and Alison Walshe were also among the guests, as were World Golf Hall of Famers Beth Daniel and Meg Mallon.
“I’ve known Michelle since she was 13, more than half of her life,” Leadbetter said. “So, it was quite emotional, seeing her get married. She’s going to be a great wife and I’m sure at some time a great mom, in the future.”
Wie currently lives in Jupiter, Fl., but she’s expected to make her new home in San Francisco, where her husband is based.
