Leave it to the PGA Of America to come up with some form of madness.
Seems like the organization that represents our hard-working club professionals has gone crazy for Congressional — as in Congressional Country Club.
In one giant swoop, the PGA Of America has awarded not one, not two, not three but EIGHT of its events to the giant, posh, ritzy club outside of Washington, D.C. in nearby Maryland.
First, you can make your reservations for the Ryder Cup but that’s 18 years in the future. Yep, Congressional will host the 2036 Ryder Cup. It will also host the 2031 PGA Championship. You wonder if Tiger Woods will play in it when he’s 55?
The Women’s PGA Championship will be staged there in 2022 and 2027.
The Senior PGA Championship will go there in 2025 and 2033. We hear Phil Mickelson may be the early betting favorite.
The Club Professionals get their shot there in 2029, if there are any club professionals left by then.
Then the Junior PGA will be there in 2024, boys and girls.
Seems the PGA is stuck on this venue.
For its lack of imagination, we sentence the stuffed shirts at the PGA Of America headquarters to a month in The Doghouse!
