Rickie Fowler’s always been the cool kid.
Still is, even though he’s hit the big THREE-OH.
He’s what you can call a trendsetter.
So there in the rain and gloom of last week’s final round at the TPC Scottsdale, Rickie had something different from everyone else — his golf bag.
Fowler ditched the old, revered over-size staff bag for a really cool stand bag, of course from his biggest sponsor — PUMA.
Stand bags are the new trend, a tip of the cap to walking and also the acknowledgement that the huge crowds out there at TPC Scottsdale are young and hip.
Rickie’s the perfect hipster.
Everyone wondered if Fowler was at a disadvantage in the rain with the smaller bag — typically caddies might put a half-dozen towels in those staff bags to use in rainy weather.
Looked like they did okay with the towels and in the end, things worked out really well for Fowler, who was tested to the max and passed with flying colors — those being his Sunday orange.
Fowler’s Sunday bag carried the colors of the tournament sponsor — Waste Management.
This won’t be the last time you see Rickie with a cool stand bag.
He loves helping his sponsors and there’s more to come.
Stayed tuned on this one.
