Last week we talked about the importance of flexibility if you want to make some improvement in 2020.
Once you get on the road to a better fit for your body, it’s now time to turn to your clubs.
This is that time of year when the club companies show off their new stuff at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
Tons of new drivers, irons, wedges and putters.
It’s also the time of year when ads are playing for those new clubs, the technology that promises to improve your game — you’ve seen it, you know all about it.
If you’re contemplating an equipment change, do yourself a favor — get fit for those new clubs.
The big golf specialty retailers offer it. So does the new Club Champion concept, a store that is totally devoted to fitting. Those stores are opening all over the country and there’s probably one near you.
What’s important is that you get the right shaft to match your swing speed and other swing characteristics.
Yes, there’s a lot of new technology out there to help, but you need to match it up to your abilities, or lack thereof in the case of most high-handicappers.
So start the new year and the new decade off on the right foot.
Get those clubs fit for YOU!
