Last week Tiger Woods was walking around in Los Angeles — he attended the 25th anniversary of his foundation.
Now he’s back practicing again and El Tigre himself has confirmed it, posting a video of him hitting balls on his Twitter account.
Tiger’s comment was simple: “Making progress…..”
Yes he is. It’s been nine months since his horrific car crash that mangled his right leg and his progress is amazing.
The next question is: When will Tiger play again?
That’s totally up in the air. No doubt he will be on hand just handling his “host” duties next month at his Hero World Challenge at Albany in the Bahamas. It will be good to see the event again — the 2020 competition was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic.
So let the speculation begin.
Will Tiger Woods tee it up at the 2022 Masters?
Don’t bet against it.
Talor Gooch Closes The Deal — Gets First Tour Win At RSM Classic:
Talor Gooch started the final round of the season-ending RSM Classic with a three-shot lead and he had the right formula for that first PGA Tour win — fairways and greens.
Gooch was unflappable over the final 18 Sunday at Sea Island’s Seaside course. He got off to a nice start with a pair of front nine birdies then added four more coming home for a bogey-free 64 and a 22-under par total.
Mackenzie Hughes made a spirited run at Gooch with a closing 62 but Gooch made no mistakes on his way to that first win. He hit 16 of 18 greens and never gave up his lead. His lead grew to as many as five shots before Mackenzie’s rally. “I always kind of keep an eye on things,” said Gooch, a scoreboard watcher. This win made it three top fives in his last six starts, giving him a lot of momentum for 2022.
He earned an invitation to the Masters, the PGA and the Players Championship for 2022 as well as the Tournament Of Champions in Hawaii.
Earlier in the day, Tyler McCumber had a chance to shoot 59. Coming to his last hole, the ninth, he was 10-under par but left himself a 53-footer for the magic number. Still, his 10-under par round tied the tournament single round record and earned him a tie for fourth at 15-under par.
