Sometimes there’s an offer you just can’t refuse.
It’s Black Friday and there are deals everywhere — including the golf universe.
Our task here today is to share with you some sites and stuff we’ve found that we consider really, really good stuff at great prices.
So let’s get right to it!
One of our biggest gripes is the high price of Cabretta leather golf gloves — $15, $16, $17, $18, $20 or higher. Let’s put an end to that and introduce you to MG Golf — www.mggolf.com.
Been buying gloves from them for a few years now and we took about a dozen to Scotland for the trip — just in case of bad weather. MG Golf offers really, really nice Cabretta leather gloves for, drum roll please — $6.95 each. They have three styles — Dyna Grip, Tech Grip and Dyna Grip Elite. Super gloves, we order them a half-dozen at a shot and I currently have two-dozen stashed in my office. Have some of those expensive Foot-Joy gloves as well and the MG gloves perform just as well. Do yourself a favor and quit spending big money for those gloves worn by guys on TV. You’re paying for that endorsement money!
Another great purchase we made at MG is their range-finder. Range finders are priced sky-high out there but we got a great one from MG Golf for $120 and it’s the deluxe model that has slope. There the basic one for $99 and it’s a good one as well. Don’t spend $200-$400 on a range finder!
There are great deals to be found at www.golfanything.com.
Love their Donald Ross apparel and they have really nice stuff there at deep discounts. We purchased several winter items for the October trip to Scotland and the price was absolutely right.
We’ll probably go on that site today and pick up another piece of Donald Ross outerwear. Hey, it gets chilly in Florida — sometimes in the high 50s this time of year.
This site is worth a looksee.
Here’s a nice idea for something great for the wall of your home, office or wherever — have one of your favorite photos made into a canvas print. Check out www.simplecanvasprints.com.
They have super Black Friday deals going on and all you have to do is email them your favorite photo from anywhere, any activity, family stuff, golf stuff, your dog, whatever makes you happy. They have different size canvas prints for you to choose from. They look great — have one of myself and best-friend min-pin Little Matthew on the office wall. Will probably have our group shot on the Swilcan Bridge at St. Andrews as our next selection from simplecanvasprints.
There are a lot of mega-sites out there for you.
One of them is The Golf Warehouse — www.tgw.com. The Golf Warehouse has a lot going on, more stuff than you could find if you drove around town for a couple of hours. New clubs, used clubs, balls, clothing, everything.
But if you want to get out of the house, then you might want to head to one of the big retailers and we suggest you always look at the used club selection. We found a Titleist five-wood at the neighborhood Edwin Watts store. It was virtually brand new, might have been hit a few times, really nice premium Golf Pride grip, premium Bassara shaft from Mitsubishi and the price was, drum-roll please — $50!
In this world of $400 and $500 drivers, $400 putters and $150 wedges and $25 golf gloves, we’re just saying “NO” to the high cost of golf.
Check out those sites and quit paying big bucks for your stuff.
Happy Black Friday!
