If you watch the PGA Tour, you’ll see how good the players are from thick lies around the greens.
Today, PGA Tour veteran member and ace-instructor Larry Rinker shows how to be more effective with you sand wedge from those tougher lies.
Larry’s keys:
First, the shaft should be straight up and down, avoid forward shaft lean, it creates shots that come out low and hot.
Second, loft equals bounce.
Third, your head should be a bit more forward and your shoulders level when you set up for these shots.
Fourth — use the bounce!!
Fifth — don’t move your body backwards when you hit this shot (we’ve seen Lexi Thompson do exactly that and she struggles with pitch shots around the greens).
So take a few minutes to look at what Larry brings to the instruction table today.
Practice what he preaches and you’ll improve with these shots!
