No golfers and virtually deserted streets.
The quaint town of St. Andrews, Scotland isn’t used to this.
It’s part of the current new world normal with courses in Scotland shut down due to the highly-contagious Corona Virus.
Victor Perez took time recently to take his dog (pictured above) for a walk on the ancient links. Perez was the winner last year at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, a European Tour event staged at Carnoustie, The Old Course and Kingsbarns.
The tournament is on the October schedule for the European Tour but like the rest of the world’s sports, the European Tour is on hold — indefinitely.
In the meantime, towns-people are out getting their daily walks in on The Old Course. It’s a site normally seen on Sundays, when the Old Course is closed for play in a typical week.
The streets of the town are deserted and the golf shops and restaurants are closed.
Like every other golf destination, the St. Andrews Trust and all its historic courses, are closed until this pandemic comes under control.
